Daniel Nott is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in forensic accounting, assurance, and advisory services. He is a seasoned independent expert in the quantification of loss, financial investigations, and valuation matters. Daniel has led significant investigative engagements for regulators in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Daniel and his team are regularly engaged to provide:
- Independent expert reports to quantify or value the financial impact of disputes on businesses or individuals. These engagements often involve the assessment of damages for use in litigation, mediation or settlement discussions.
- Investigations into fraud and systemic issues, including assessments of internal controls, risk management frameworks, and prevention capabilities.
- Financial investigations, supporting regulators and stakeholders with asset tracing, transaction reviews, reconstruction of accounting records, reviews of revenue reporting and royalty payments, and analysis of potential breaches of the Corporations Act.
- Independent reviews and validations of complex financial models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
Prior to joining Hall Chadwick, Daniel founded the Forensics division at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He led a specialist team responsible for the Group’s approach to customer loss in large-scale remediation projects, customer complaints, and investigations into conduct issues, responsible lending practices, and poor financial advice.
As part of his broader assurance and advisory experience, Daniel has worked on audits of both private and publicly listed companies and has provided acquisition and vendor due diligence services.
Daniel qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 and has completed postgraduate studies in valuations, fraud investigations, and forensic accounting.
