Kirrilly Waring is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of specialised experience in valuations and forensic accounting across a broad range of industries and legal contexts.

Kirrilly began her career in audit and assurance at Arthur Anderson before moving into forensic accounting at Horwath (NSW) Pty Ltd, focusing on economic loss reports for personal injury and dust disease matters.

For over two decades, Kirrilly worked with the specialist valuations firm Lonergan Edwards & Associates Limited, collaborating closely with Wayne Lonergan, a respected authority in Australian business valuations,

In 2024, Kirrilly joined Hall Chadwick’s Forensic division in the Sydney office, contributing her expertise in the areas of:

  • Valuations for matters in dispute, such as shareholder disputes and oppression, contractual fallouts, family law settlements and compulsory acquisition;
  • Quantification of damages and consequential loss for matters relating to institutional abuse, insurance litigation and personal injury, commercial litigation, workplace disputes and class actions;
  • Fraud investigations and reporting; and
  • Investigations, accounts reviews and discovery projects on an ad-hoc basis for the in-house Insolvency division.

  • Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, 1999

  • Economic loss reports for defendants in institutional abuse matters based on a variety of instructed careers / earning including AFL player / coach, horse racing / trainer, average / median weekly earnings.
  • Economic loss reports for defendant, James Hardie, in dust diseases matters based on a variety of instructed careers
  • Direct involvement in the establishment of a database of claims for James Hardie to estimate their future Dust Diseases claim liability at that point in time
  • Loss of opportunity matter in Hong Kong Arbitration Court for an e-commerce company against a large Chinese financial services corporation
  • Loss of profits matter for a discount footwear retailer against a major international footwear retailer / brand
  • Valuation of a diversified holding company with substantial property and investments for tax purposes
  • Valuation of contingent consideration, software and goodwill for an Australian financial technology company specialising in foreign exchange, payments and Software as a Service
  • Valuation of a law firm for compulsory acquisition purposes
  • Shadow Expert work in a complex class action proceeding against an Australian listed company in the business of livestock.  This involved detailed analysis of financial, operational, and market data, supporting legal counsel by critically reviewing opposing expert reports, identifying methodological flaws, assessing the quantum of claimed damages, and preparing internal briefings to inform case strategy
  • Valuation and Shadow Expert work for Family Law purposes in varied businesses including, but not limited to:
    • A luxury Fijian resort
    • An internationally renowned interior designer
    • Professional services firms
    • A sandstone quarry
